Peggy A. Leen is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the District of Nevada. She was appointed to this position on January 16, 2001.
Judge Leen earned a degree in political science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1976 and a J.D. degree from the University of San Diego Law School in 1979. During law school, she practiced as an intern with the Clark County Public Defender’s Office.
Judge Leen began her career as a Deputy Public Defender. She later joined the law firm Thorndal, Backus, Maupin & Armstrong, where she became a partner in 1983. In 1995, she joined the Clark County District Attorney’s Office. She was then appointed magistrate judge in 2001.
