Peter J. Siggins is a judge on the First District, Third Division of the California Courts of Appeal. He was appointed to the court by Governor Schwarzenegger in December of 2005 and was sworn-in on January 6, 2006. His current term expires in 2022. [1]

Education

Siggins received his Bachelor of Arts from Loyola Marymount University in 1977 and his Juris Doctor from Hastings College of the Law in 1980. [2]

Legal career

From 1980-1983, Justice Siggins practiced general civil litigation and maritime law with the firm of Acret & Perrochet in San Francisco, California. He was in private practice from 1983-1985, and worked in the two lawyer firm of German & Siggins from 1985-1988. In 1988, Siggins began employment with the Attorney General's Office of the California Department of Justice, where he served until 2003. From 2003-2005, Siggins was the Governor's Legal Affairs Secretary and Interim Chief of Staff. He was appointed to the Court of Appeals in 2005. [2]
