R. Thomas Stinnett was a bankruptcy judge for the United States bankruptcy court, Eastern District of Tennessee. Judge Stinnett retired on Jan 3, 2010 with former Attorney Shelley Rucker taking his place as judge for the district.[1]

Education

Stimmett attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville for his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor. [2]

Legal career

R. Thomas Stinnett was first appointed bankruptcy judge in 1994. He held court in Chattanooga and Winchester. Before his appointment to bankruptcy judge he practiced law in Knoxville, Tennessee.[3]
