Judicial career
Eastern District of Michigan
Guy was nominated to the Eastern District of Michigan by President Gerald Ford on April 26, 1976, to a seat vacated by Frederick Kaess; he was confirmed by the Senate on May 11, 1976, and received commission the next day. He served the Eastern District of Michigan until he was elevated to the Sixth Circuit on October 17, 1985. [1] Guy was succeeded in this position by Lawrence Zatkoff.
Sixth Circuit
Guy was nominated to the Sixth Circuitt by President Ronald Reagan on July 23, 1985, to a new seat created by 98 Stat. 333; he was confirmed by the Senate on October 16, 1985, and received commission the next day. He assumed senior status on September 1, 1994. [1]
