Gonazlez ran for a seat on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals in 2010. [3] She touted her varied experience on the Circuit Court as being needed on the Court of Appeals saying, "I have 15 years of judicial experience that has been very varied. I've handled everything from a murder trial to small claims actions" and mentions her roots outside of the capitol as important, "As someone from outside the Madison area, I'd be able to bring in other viewpoints to the court". [2]

Also running for the seat were judge Edward Leineweber and Dane County District Attorney Brian Blanchard. [4]

Results

After the primary election results came in, Gonzalez withdrew from the race saying that the "taxpayers have spent enough". [5] She is supporting Leineweber for the seat. She said: "There’s a big difference between how a judge would approach a case rather than how a lawyer approaches a case. These races should be about qualifications and the judicial temperament. That’s why I’m supporting Judge Leineweber." [6]

Unofficial primary results indicated that Brian Blanchard had a comfortable lead in the race for Seat 4 on the Court of Appeals, with 28,157 votes to Leineweber's 12,964 and Gonzalez's 12,782 votes. [7][8]
