Rebecca Simmons

Rebecca Simmons is a judge on the Texas Fourth District Court of Appeals. She was appointed to this position in May of 2005[1] and her current term ends on December 31, 2012.[2]

Simmons has announced that she intends to run for the seat that Harriet O'Neill will be vacating on the Texas Supreme Court in 2010. [3]
Biography
Justice Simmons received her law degree from Baylor University School of Law. [1]
Legal career
Justice Simmons began her legal career as a briefing attorney (clerk) for the Texas Supreme Court. She then practiced law in San Antonio for 20 years until her appointment to the 408th Judicial District Court (Bexar County) in 2003. She held this position until her appointment to the Court of Appeals in 2005.[1]
Simmons has also served as an adjunct professor at St. Mary's School of Law for 15 years. [3]
