Richard A. Luce is a judge of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed to a newly-created judgeship on this court by then-Governor Bob Martinez in the fall of 1987. He took office in January of 1988. His current term expires on January 7, 2013.[1][2][3][4][5] Luce has announced that he will not seek reelection when his current term expires. [6]

Education

Luce received his B.A. degree from Utica College of Syracuse University and his J.D. degree from the Stetson University College of Law in 1973.[7][8]

Legal career

Luce is a former assistant public defender and assistant city attorney for St. Petersburg, FL. He joined the Pinellas County Court in 1981. He was then appointed to the Circuit Court in 1987.[3]
