Illinois: Last week, the Illinois Supreme Court announced the appointment of seventy-six year old Richard J. Lannon to the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Court. Lannon has been a partner with the same law firm since 1963. [1]

Of the appointment, Lannon said, "I am honored by the appointment and I'll do my best on the bench." [2]

Chief Justice Thomas Kilbride recommended Lannon for the seat. He replaces retired judge James A. Lanuti, who stepped down last December. Lannon must run for election to the seat in 2012 if he wishes to continue serving. [1]
