Richard T. "Flip" Phillips ran for election to the Mississippi Supreme Court in 2012. [1][2]

Phillips was defeated by Josiah Dennis Coleman in the general election, receiving 42% of the vote. [3][1][4][5]

Education
Phillips received his B.A. degree from the University of Mississippi in 1969 and his J.D. degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1972.[2]
Career
Phillips has worked as a lawyer for 40 years. He is a former Assistant District Attorney and a founding member of the law firm of Smith, Phillips, Mitchell, Scott & Nowak, LLP, where he currently works. He also serves as the Batesville City Attorney and as corporate counsel for Dunlap and Kyle Company and other businesses.[6]
