Calvin Boender case
Judge Dow is the presiding judge in the trial of Chicago real estate developer Calvin Boender. Boender is charged in attempting to pass bribes to Chicago city officials in exchange for favorable zoning changes. The judge originally planned to rule on February 23, 2010 to request five Chicago Aldermen to testify in the trial over how one of Boender's developments won approval from the city. The testimony is considered critical for Boender's attorneys. [3]
However, the decision has been delayed while the judge is considering the decision during the week of March 15, 2010. The prosecution expected to wrap up their arguments. Also, if in the event the judge allows the five aldermen to testify, Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley may be called to testify in the trial also.[4]
