Robert G. Dowd, Jr. is currently a judge serving on the Eastern District of the Missouri Court of Appeals. He was appointed to this position in August of 1994 and retained in 1996 and 2008. His current 12-year term expires on December 31, 2020. From 1998 to 1999, he was the Chief Judge.[1]
Biography
Judge Dowd was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended the University of Missouri at St. Louis, received his B.A. degree from Quincy College, and his J.D. degree from St. Mary's University. He is currently married with children.[1]
Legal career
Judge Dowd began his legal career as a private practice lawyer. He was elected Magistrate Judge of the 22nd Judicial Circuit in 1978. He became an Associate Circuit Judge in 1982 and a Circuit Judge in 1985. He held this position until his appointment to the Court of Appeals.[1]
