Education
Belanger graduated from John Carroll University in 1981. He then received his J.D. degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1986.[2][4]
In 2012, Judge Belanger was accepted to study for a Masters of Law (LL.M.) degree at Duke University School of Law. [5]
Career
Belanger began his legal career as a Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps, where he served from 1986 to 1990. In 1990, he became an associate with Svete, McGee & Carrabine Co, L.P.A. He worked in that capacity until 1994, when he became an Assistant State Attorney for the 19th Judicial Circuit. He was then appointed to the Circuit Court in late 2004.[2][4] [5]
2012 election
Belanger was unopposed and automatically re-elected following the primary election on August 14, 2012.[6]
