Legal education
Judge Robert Edmunds was on the Dean's List from 1967-1969 at Williams College, and graduated from Vassar College in 1971. He attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hills School of Law and earned a Juris Doctor in 1975. He was Associate Justice in the Holderness Moot Court Bench in 1975 and earned a Master of Laws in Judicial Process from the University of Virginia in 2004.[2]
Legal experience
Edmunds was first elected to the office of Associate Justice in November 2001, and was sworn in during January 2001. From 1986-1993, he was the United States Attorney for the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. Edmunds served as an ensign in the U.S. Navy from 1975-1977.
2008 election results
Edmunds, running as an incumbent for the North Carolina Supreme Court won with 51.04% against Suzanne Reynolds.[3]
