Robert M. Fillmore is a judge on the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals. Governor Perry appointed him to this position on May 6, 2009. He was elected to the seat in November 2010 and was re-elected on November 6, 2012 for a term that expires on December 31, 2018.[1][2][3]
Education
Justice Fillmore received his bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas[1] and his law degree from the same school in 1977. [4]
Legal career
Prior to joining the Court of Appeals, Justice Fillmore worked as an attorney and partner of the law firm Hunton and Williams L.L.P. His specialty is public utility law[4]. He previously worked as an assistant attorney general and a special assistant attorney general in Kansas. He has also worked as an adjunct faculty member of Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law and the University of Kansas School of Law.[1]

Fillmore defeated Lawrence Praeger in the general election, winning 58.3% of the vote. [5]
