Robert D. Hawthorne is a judge on the Colorado Court of Appeals. He was appointed to the court on August 12, 2004 and took office on January 28, 2005. He was retained by voters in 2008 to a full eight-year term which expires on January 10, 2017.[1]

Education

Judge Hawthorne received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in 1970 and his J.D. from the University of Missouri School of Law in 1973.

Judge Hawthorne served in the U. S. Army Reserves (1970-1976) and as Active Duty (1971). [2]

Judge Hawthorne worked in Private Practice in Limon, Colorado, (1982-2004) and as Limon Town Attorney (1982-1994); Private Practice, Denver (1978-1982); Contract Administrator, Martin Marietta, Denver (1977-1978); Private Practice, Springfield, Missouri (1975-1977); Assistant District Attorney, Greene County, Springfield, Missouri (1974); Asst. General Counsel, Brotherhood of Railway & Airline Clerks, Rosemont, Illinois (1973).[2]
