Robert Lewis Brown, Sr. (1928-1987) was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Judicial career

Fifth Circuit

Hill was nominated to the Fifth Circuit by President Ronald Reagan on June 4, 1984, to a seat vacated by John Brown; he was confirmed by the Senate on June 15, 1984, and received commission that same day. He served the Fifth Circuit until his death on October 19, 1987.[1]

Northern District of Texas

Hill was nominated to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas by President Richard Nixon on October 7, 1970, to a new seat created by 84 Stat. 294; he was confirmed by the Senate on November 25, 1970, and received commission on December 1, 1970. He served the Northern District of Texas until he was elevated to the Fifth Circuit on July 20, 1984.[1] Hill was succeeded in this position by Sidney Fitzwater.
