Robert Klausner is a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He joined the Court in 2003 after being nominated by President George W. Bush.[1]
Early life and education
Born in Los Angeles, California, Klausner graduated from University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor's of Arts in 1963 and a Bachelor's of Science degree in 1964 before graduating from Loyola University of Chicago Law School with his Juris Doctor degree in 1967.[1]
Professional career
Klausner served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969. Klausner was a Deputy District Attorney for the Los Angeles County, California District Attorney's Office from 1969 to 1974 before serving as Court Commissioner of the Pasadena, California Municipal Court from 1974 to 1980 and later served as Municipal Court Judge of the Pasadena, California Municipal Court until 1985. Klausner served as Superior Court Judge in the Los Angeles County California Superior Court from 1985 to 2002.[1]
Judicial career
Central District of California
Klausner was nominated to the United States District Court for the Central District of California by President George W. Bush on July 18, 2002, to a seat vacated by William Keller as Keller assumed senior status. Klausner was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on November 14, 2002 on a Senate voice vote and received commission on April 9, 2003. [2]
