Federal judicial career
Second Circuit
Anderson was nominated to the Second Circuit by President Lyndon Johnson on August 4, 1964, to a seat vacated by Charles Clark; he was confirmed by the Senate on August 15, 1964, and received his commission that same day. He assumed senior status on May 1, 1971. He served the Second Circuit until his death on May 2, 1978.[1] He was succeeded to this post by William Timbers.
District of Connecticut
Anderson was nominated by President Dwight Eisenhower on April 6, 1954, to a seat vacated by Carroll Hincks; he was confirmed by the Senate on April 23, 1954, and received his commission on April 27, 1954. From 1960-1964, he served as the chief judge. He served the District of Connecticut until he was elevated to the Second Circuit on August 20, 1964. [1] He was succeeded to this post by Robert Zampano.
