Robert Williams

Robert Lee Williams (1868-1948) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma[1].

Tenth Circuit

Williams was nominated to the Tenth Circuit by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on March 25, 1937 to fill the seat vacated by George Thomas McDermott. He was confirmed by the Senate on April 20, 1937, and received commission the next day. On March 31, 1939, he assumed senior status. He served on this court until his death on April 10, 1948[1].

Eastern District of Oklahoma

Williams was nominated to the Eastern District of Oklahoma by President Woodrow Wilson on December 3, 1918 to fill the seat vacated by Ralph Campbell. He was confirmed by the Senate on January 7, 1919, and received commission that same day. He served on this court until April 21, 1937, when he was appointed to the Tenth Circuit[1].
