Ronald Murray Gould is a federal judge with the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco with a duty station in Seattle. He joined the court in 1999 after being nominated by President Bill Clinton.
Early life and education
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Gould graduated from University of Pennsylvania with his Bachelor's Degree in 1968 and later from University of Michigan Law School with his Juris Doctor degree in 1973.[1]
Professional career
Gould served as law clerk for former federal appeals judge Wade McCree, Jr. of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati from 1973 to 1974, and again for Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court Potter Stewart in the Supreme Court of the United States from 1974 to 1975. Gould entered private practice in Washington State from 1975 to 1999 and also served as a Adjunct Professor at Washington Law from 1986 to 1989.[1]
Judicial career
Gould was nominated to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit by President Bill Clinton on January 26, 1999, to a seat vacated by Robert R. Beezer. Gould was confirmed by the Senate on November 17, 1999 on a majority vote and received commission on November 22, 1999. [2]
