Ronald E. Nehring was appointed to the Utah Supreme Court by Republican Governor Michael O. Leavitt in May of 2003, after eight years of service on the Third District Court bench.

Legal education

Justice Nehring graduated from Cornell University for his undergraduate degree, and the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah.

Legal experience

After law school, Justice Nehring worked for Utah Legal Services. He later worked in private practice and was a shareholder with the Salt Lake City firm of Prince, Yeates and Geldzahler. After holding this position, Justice Nehring was appointed to the District Court bench.^[1]
