Ronald Robie

Ronald Robie is a judge on the Third District of the California Courts of Appeal. He took the oath of office on January 15, 2002 after being elected by then-Governor Davis. He was retained by voters in the November 5, 2002 election.[1]

Biography

Ronald Robie received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1958 and continued to receive his Master of Journalism degree from this school in 1960. He earned his law degree in 1967 from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Before his legal career, he was involved with the California Legislature Assembly Committee on Water and the California Department of Water Resources. He teaches on water and environmental law at McGeorge School of Law. He was chair of the Water Committee of the American Bar Association in 1975. He has authored numerous articles on Water Law and is a Board member of the Water Education Foundation.[2]

Legal career

Ronald Robie was appointed to the Sacramento Municipal Court in 1983 and was then promoted to the Superior Court. From 1994 to 1995, he was the presiding judge.[2]
