Sanford funding veto ruled unconstitutional

South Carolina: The South Carolina Supreme Court unanimously ruled on January 24 that the veto former Governor Sanford made to the state's financial oversight board was unconstitutional.
Sanford had vetoed only one source of funding available to the Budget and Control Board, rendering the move moot. "By vetoing only one of several sources of funds, the Governor vetoed only part of an item, rendering the veto unconstitutional," according to the Court's ruling.
The state House had legislatively upheld the veto in 2010. The Budget and Control Board must now determine how to restore funds to it's budget. [1]
