Sean C. Gallagher is a judge on the Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals. He was elected to this position on November 5, 2002[1] and took office on February 9, 2003. He was re-elected to a 6-year term in November of 2008 [2] and will be up for re-election again in 2014, since his term ends on February 8, 2015. [3][4]
Education
Justice Gallagher graduated from Ohio University with a B.A. degree and from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law with a J.D. degree. [1]
Legal career
Justice Gallagher began his legal career as a juvenile probation officer in Cuyahoga County. After 4 years, he became a Common Pleas Court bailiff for Judge Donald Nugent. He worked in this position for 6 years before becoming a Cuyahoga County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in 1991. He worked in the felony division and the Economic Crime Unit of this office. In 1997, he became a judge on the Cleveland Municipal Court. He held this position until joining the Court of Appeals in 2003.[1]
