Sherman Skolnick
From Judgepedia
Sherman Skolnick was the founder of the Citizens' Committee To Clean Up The Courts.
On June 11, 1969, Skolnick filed a motion with the Illinois Supreme Court asking that it investigate the courts integrity in its decision in People v. Isaacs.
Skolnick's motion charged then-Chief Justice Roy Solfisburg and Justice Ray Klingbiel with "undue influence and appearance of impropriety" regarding the People v. Isaacs decision. It specifically alleged that Klingbiel "had received a gift of one hundred shares of bank stock from the defendant while the case was pending before the court. Both justices had voted with the 4-2 majority to affirm the trial court's dismissal of an indictment against Isaacs, and Klingbiel wrote the opinion."[1]
