Sidney Schenkier

Sidney I. Schenkier is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He was appointed to this position on March 30, 1998.[1][2]
Education
Judge Schenkier received his B.S. degree in Journalism from Northwestern University in 1976. He then earned his J.D. degree from Northwestern's School of Law in 1979.[1]
Career
Judge Schenkier began his career in September of 1979 as a law clerk for U.S. District Judge Marvin Aspen of the Northern District of Illinois. The next year, he began teaching at the University of Chicago Law School as a "Bigelow Teaching Fellow". He then joined the law firm Jenner & Block on July 14, 1981. He became a partner of this firm in January of 1986 and worked in this position until he became a magistrate judge in 1998.[1]
