Steve Hilbig

Steven C. Hilbig is a justice on the Texas Fourth District Court of Appeals. He was elected to this position on November 7, 2006[1] and joined the court on January 2, 2007.[2] His current term ends on December 31, 2012[3].
Biography
Justice Hilbig was born on March 22, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas. He received his A.A. degree from San Antonio College in 1972, his B.A. degree in American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin in 1974 and his J.D. degree from the University of Texas Law School in 1976. He is currently married.[2]
Legal career
Justice Hilbig began his legal career in 1977 as a Bexar County Assistant Criminal District Attorney. He held this position until October of 1981, when he became an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas. In November of 1984, he left this position and started a solo law practice focusing on criminal defense. He was elected Bexar County Criminal District Attorney in 1990, where he served two terms. In 1998, he began working with the law firm Sessions & Sessions, L.L.P., which later merged with Holland & Knight, L.L.P. He left in 2002 and worked as a sole practitioner until 2006, when he was elected to the Court of Appeals.[2]
