Stuart Rabner

Stuart Rabner is the Chief Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court. He was appointed to the court by Jon Corzine, a Democratic governor and took office on June 29, 2007.[1] His current term expires on June 29, 2014.[2][3]

Biography

Justice Rabner was born on June 30, 1960 and grew up in Passaic, New Jersey. He graduated from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University in 1982 and received his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1985. He is now married and has three children.[1]

Legal career

Justice Rabner began his legal career as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Dickinson Debevoise. He then joined the Newark U.S. Attorney's Office in 1986. During his time at this office, he worked as a first assistant U.S. attorney, chief of the terrorism unit, and later, chief of the office's criminal division. He became chief counsel to Gov. Corzine in January of 2006. In September of that year, he became the New Jersey Attorney General. He held this position until he was nominated to the Supreme Court in 2007.[1]
