Stutsman County is within the Southeast Judicial District. The people of Stutsman County are served by a District Court and one Municipal Court.

The United States District Court for the District of North Dakota has jurisdiction in Stutsman County. Appeals from the District of North Dakota go to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
