Suzanne Bass is a judge for the Fourth Circuit Court in Florida. She was elected in 2012 and took office on January 8, 2013.

Education

Bass received her B.A. degree (Political Science) from Emory University and her J.D. degree from the University of Richmond.

Career

Bass began her career as an Assistant Public Defender under Mil Thomas. After three years, she became an Assistant State Attorney under Ed Austin, a position which she also held for three years. She was also employed by the Florida Coastal School of Law as an Adjunct Professor for a year and a half. Since 1984, she has worked as a self-employed private practice attorney.

2012 election

Bass defeated incumbent Judge John Merrett with 59.2% of the vote in the primary on Aug. 14, 2012.
