Tennessee Chancery Courts are trial courts of general jurisdiction in Tennessee. In general, they share jurisdiction with the Circuit Courts. There is a Chancery Court in each of the state's 31 judicial districts.[1]

Methods of selection and judge terms

The judge who presides over a Chancery Court is referred to as a "Chancellor". The chancellor are elected in partisan elections for eight year terms.
