2010 General Election

There are three seats on the Texas Supreme Court up for election in 2010. Justice Harriet O'Neill has announced that she will not seek re-election upon the expiration of her term, Justice Paul Green's term is up for a vote, and Justice Scott Brister's 2009 retirement created an opportunity for the Governor to appoint Eva Guzman to the court, who will have to run in the general election if she wishes to retain the seat. Three seats on the Texas Supreme Court were up for grabs in November 2008; all three incumbents in the race won re-election.

In the partisan election, all three incumbents were Republicans, and all three challengers are Democrats. [8]
