Thomas R. Evans is the Chief Judge of the 55th Circuit Court in Michigan (counties of Clare and Gladwin). He was appointed to this court by then-Governor Granholm on September 21, 2005 to replace retired Judge Kurt N. Hansen.[1] He was re-elected in 2006 and 2008. His current 6 year term ends on January 1, 2015.[2][3][4]

Education

Evans received his bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and his law degree from the Wayne State University Law School.[1]

Legal career

Evans worked for over 10 years as a prosecutor for Gladwin County prior to his appointment to the Circuit Court in 2005. He has also served as a legal instructor for the Kirtland Regional Police Academy and Kirtland Community College.[1]
