Thomas Otepka is a judge for District 4 Court in Nebraska. He has served in this position since 2003. He has also served as a judge on the Douglas County Adult Drug Court since 2009.[1][2]

2012 election

Otepka was retained in the general election on November 6, winning 68.53% of the vote.[3][4]

2012 judicial performance evaluation

Every two years, the Nebraska State Bar Association compiles responses from lawyers to evaluate judges in the state. Subjects are rated in seven categories, then a determination is made for whether the judge should be retained. The seven categories considered are: legal analysis; impartiality; attentiveness; opinions; judicial temperament and demeanor; appropriate communication; and timeliness.

Education

Otepka received a B.S. degree in Biology and a J.D. degree from Creighton University in 1969 and 1972, respectively.[1]

Career

Otepka began his career in 1972 as an Assistant Omaha City Prosecutor. In 1975, he became a private practice lawyer. He then joined the District Court in 2003 and the Drug Court in 2009.[1]
