Thomas Waterman is a justice on the Iowa Supreme Court. He was appointed by Governor Terry Branstad in February 2011 to a term that expires in December 2017. He took office on March 21, 2011[1] and was officially sworn-in the following June 3rd.[2][3] [4] His current term expires in 2020.[5]

Waterman received his J.D. from the University of Iowa. [6]
Career
Waterman has spent his legal career in private practice. [6] Prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court, Waterman was a member of the Iowa Judicial Nomination Commission. [7]
2012 election
Waterman was retained in the general election on November 6, 2012, receiving 74.8% of the vote (100% of precincts reporting).[5][8]
