Tishomingo County is one of 82 counties in Mississippi. This county is under the jurisdiction of the District Chancery Court, which has jurisdiction over disputes in matters involving equity; domestic matters including adoptions, custody disputes and divorces; guardianships; sanity hearings; wills; and challenges to constitutionality of state laws.[1]
Tishomingo is also under the jurisdiction of the District Circuit Court, which hears felony criminal prosecutions and civil lawsuits."[2]
The United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi has jurisdiction in Tishomingo County. Appeals from the Northern District go to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
