Todd McKenney is a judge on the Summit County Court of Common Pleas General Division in Akron, Ohio.[1] He was elected on November 4, 2014, to a term that expires on January 4, 2017.[2]

McKenney was previously the judge for the Barberton Municipal Court in Summit County, Ohio. He was appointed to the court on April 11, 2014, by Governor John Kasich to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of Judge Christine Croce to the Summit County Court of Common Pleas.[3][4] He left this court when sworn into the Summit County Court of Common Pleas in 2015.

McKenney previously served as a judge for the Summit County Court of Common Pleas Probate Division. He was also appointed to this court by Governor John Kasich and served from November 2011 to January 2013.[5][6]

McKenney was a Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing District 43. McKenney was elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 2010 and served until 2011. He previously worked as a judicial law clerk and then practiced law for five years. He spent the next 14 years as a pastor for The Chapel before returning to the legal practice.[7]

McKenny ran in the 2010 election for Ohio State House District 43. McKenney was defeated by Democratic incumbent Steve Dyer in the general election on November 2, 2010. McKenney defeated Nick Skeriotis in the Republican primary election on May 4, 2010.[8][9][10]

Before his election to the [Summit County Court of Common Pleas, Ohio|Summit County Court of Common Pleas]], McKenney was a judge on the Barberton Municipal Court. McKenney also formerly practiced law with the firm of Leiby, Hann, Rasnick, Towne, Evanchan, Palmisano & Hobson, LLC in Akron, Ohio. He previously served as a probate judge for the Summit County Court of Common Pleas from 2011 to 2013 and was a state representative for the 43rd Ohio House District of the Ohio House of Representatives from 2010 to 2011. Prior to this, McKenney practiced law with the firm of McKenney & Gingrich Co., LPA, served on the City Council of New Franklin, and was a judicial law clerk for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.[5]
