Tom Price is a Justice of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Justice Price is a Republican. He was elected to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals on November 5, 1996[1]--he is only the third person from Dallas to be elected to this position. Judge Price was born in Des Moines, Iowa and came to Texas in 1957. Judge Price has two children, Jan and Brian. His current term on this court is through 2014.
Legal education
Judge Tom Price attended Highland Park High School in Dallas and then served in the Marine Corps during the early Vietnam era. After the Marine Corps, Judge Price worked his way through East Texas State University and then Baylor University School of Law where he graduated in 1970.[2]
Legal experience
From 1970 to 1974, Justice Tom Price was in private practice. In 1974, he was elected to the Dallas County Criminal Court, where he remained until his election to the 282nd Criminal District Court in 1986.
Awards and associations
Justice Price was chairman of the Community Justice Council Committee from 1991 to 1996.
