The United States Circuit Court for the District of Delaware was established as part of the Judiciary Act of 1789. The circuit court system created by that act was temporarily abolished by the Judiciary Act of 1801, but with the repeal of that Act in 1802, the court was restored. It was then in continuous existence until the abolition of the circuit court system on March 3, 1911[1].
