United States Circuit Court for the Northern District of New York

The United States Circuit Court for the Northern District of New York was created on March 3, 1837. From the 1814 division of New York into Northern and Southern judicial districts until that time, appellate jurisdiction over the Northern District had been held for a time by the Circuit Court for the Southern District, and for the rest of the time by the Supreme Court. The Circuit Court for the Northern District of New York was dissolved on March 3, 1911, with the rest of the circuit court system[1].
