United States District Court for the District of Arkansas
From Judgepedia
The United States District Court for the District of Arkansas was created by Congress in 1836, and lasted until 1851, when Arkansas was divided into the Eastern and Western Districts, which are still in operation today[1]. During the 15-year life of the court, there was only one judgeship authorized[1]. Benjamin Johnson was the court's first judge, and served until his death in 1849; he was replaced by Daniel Ringo, who retained his judgeship until his resignation in 1861, serving both Eastern and Western districts jointly after their creation in 1851[2].
