Gay-Straight Alliance Organization
On August 10, 2009, Judge Adams ruled that a gay-straight alliance organization at a Florida high school can meet on school grounds and be given the same privileges as other student organizations. Hannah Page and Jacob Brock of Yulee High School sued the school board in February of 2008 after administrators told the students that they could not meet at school unless they changed the name of the group. The judge said in his ruling that a school district cannot retaliate against students because of sexual orientation which is protected under federal laws. <ref>"LezGetReal" Federal Judge says Gay-Straight Alliance can meet at Florida High School, August 12, 2009</ref>

Homeowner foreclosure
Judge Moody ruled that homeowners in Florida must raise claims in the state's foreclosure process resulting from a dismissal of a case asking the judge to halt foreclosures.
Attorneys representing two homeowners in Florida filed the lawsuit claiming that the process to contest foreclosures in Sarasota and Manatee counties violate the rights of homeowners who do not contest foreclosure action.
The judge said in his ruling that despite it may be difficult for homeowners to contest their foreclosure in state court, the judge ruled there is opportunity to get a resolution in the Florida state court system.<ref>Herald-Tribune "Judge: Homeowners must fight for rights", February 15, 2010</ref>
Dish Network case
On January 11, 2010, a federal judge ruled in favor of Dish Network after finding a man responsible for pirating Dish Network's signal.<ref name="dish">"The Register" Judge awards Dish Network $51m from satellite pirate, January 11, 2010</ref>
The judge found that the person distributed over 255,000 pirated downloads of the Dish Network software which allowed Dish Network customers to bypass security.<ref name="dish" />
As part of the judgment, the judge also ordered an injunction against the person responsible in the case in order to prevent future wrongful conduct.<ref name="dish" />

Florida drug law challenge
United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida
*Mackle Vincent Shelton v. Secretary, Department of Corrections, et. al. Case No. 6:07-cv-839-Orl-35-KRSOn July 27, 2011, Judge Scriven declared Florida's Drug Abuse Prevention and Control law unconstitutional after it was challenged for not including an intent requirement. According to the ruling, Florida is the only state to have eliminated the intent requirement from its drug laws, which means that in Florida a "person is guilty of a drug offense if he delivers a controlled substance without regard to whether he does so purposefully, knowingly, recklessly, or negligently," according to Judge Scriven. She went on to say, "Other states have rejected such a draconian and unreasonable construction of the law that would criminalize the ‘unknowing’ possession of a controlled substance," and found Florida’s drug law to be unconstitutional "on its face."<ref>Wall Street Journal "Florida Judge Declares State’s Drug Law Unconstitutional," July 27, 2011</ref>
