Montpelier, Vermont: The Vermont court system has delayed the release of their $4.7 million electronic case management system until 2014 due to technical problems and difficulties obtaining the software benefits they were seeking. The courts contract with New Dawn Technologies as a part of a major court restructuring put in place two years ago. The improved technology was intended to improve efficiency and reduce long-term budget issues. The new system would ultimately track cases, allow remote access for attorneys and court staff and create a portal for public access to information. Robert Greemore, the court administrator, told the press, "The delay in technology has made the restructuring that occurred in the court system two years ago a bit more challenging because we were not able to gain the efficiencies we had hoped for in the time given."[1]
