Walter Felton

Walter S. Felton is the Chief Judge of the Virginia Court of Appeals. He has held this position since 2006. He was elected to the Court of Appeals by the General Assembly in 2002[1] to a term ending in 2010.[2]
Education
Judge Felton received his undergraduate degree in 1966 and his law degree in 1969 from the University of Richmond and Richmond School of Law.[1]
Legal career
Judge Felton has worked as the Virginia deputy attorney general, the deputy counselor to the Governor and the deputy director of policy. He also taught law and served as legislative counsel for William & Mary College before he was appointed to the Court of Appeals.[3]
