Walter Gex is an Article III federal judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi. Gex is a judge serving on senior status. He joined the court in 1986 after being nominated by President Ronald Reagan.
Early life and education
Southern District of Mississippi
On the recommendation of U.S. Senator Thad Cochran, Gex was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on January 29, 1986 to a new seat created by 98 Stat. 333 which was approved by Congress. Gex was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on February 25, 1986 on a Senate vote and received commission on February 26, 1986. Gex later assumed senior status on March 24, 2004.
