Warren William Eginton is a federal judge on senior status for the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. Eginton joined the court in July 1979 after being nominated by President Jimmy Carter. At the time of appointment, he was a private practice attorney in Connecticut. He assumed senior status on August 1, 1992. [1]

Early life and education

Eginton graduated from Princeton with his bachelor's degree in 1948 and later graduated from Yale Law School with his Bachelor of Laws degree in 1951. [1]

Military service

He served as a U.S. Army Lieutenant from 1943 to 1946 and also served as a U.S. Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel from 1946 to 1973.[1]

Professional career

Eginton was a private practice attorney in New York from 1951 to 1953 and in Connecticut from 1953 to 1979.[1]

Judicial career

District of Connecticut

On the recommendation of U.S. Senator Dodd, Eginton was nominated by President Jimmy Carter on June 5, 1979 to a new seat created by 92 Stat. 1629 that was approved by Congress. Eginton was confirmed by the Senate on July 23, 1979 and received his commission on July 24, 1979. He assumed senior status on August 1, 1992.[1] He was succeeded to this post by Robert Chatigny.
