Education
Prior to attending college, Chutz served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1971 during the Vietnam War. He then received his B.A. degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1975 and his J.D. degree from the Louisiana State University Law Center in 1985.[3]
Career
Chutz began his career in 1985 as a sole practitioner and continued to work in that capacity until his judicial election in 1993. He also worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the 21st Judicial District from 1986 to 1993. In addition, he has served as a legal advisor for the Livingston Parish Police Jury, as an attorney for the Louisiana villages of Port Vincent and French Settlement, and as a Magistrate for Port Vincent.[3]
