Indianapolis, Indiana: Chief justice Randall Shepard of the Indiana Supreme Court has announced the launch of a web camera pilot program, which will bring web cameras into some Indiana courtrooms.[1][2] The program will begin in Lake County, where the Times of Northwest Indiana will have permission to webcast proceedings from, "Lake Circuit Court, Lake Superior Court Civil Division 2 and Lake Superior Court Civil Division 6."[2] The project will run for a year and a half and will be evaluated by the Valparaiso School of Law.[2] Some years in the past, Indiana courts had a pilot program to allow TV cameras into the courtroom, but that program failed as there were too many exemptions to allowing the cameras in.[3]
