William Bedsworth

William W. Bedsworth is a judge on the Fourth District, Division Three of the California Courts of Appeal. He was appointed by Governor Wilson and, after his confirmation, took the oath of office on April 15, 1997. He is up for re-election on November 2, 2010 and his current term ends on January 3, 2011.[1]

Biography

William Bedsworth was born on November 21, 1947 in Long Beach, California. He received his bachelor's degree from Loyola University of Los Angeles in 1968. He went on to earn his law degree (J.D.) from Berkeley (Boalt Hall School of Law) in 1971. Besides his position as a justice, he writes a monthly humor column for a couple California magazines and is an NHL goal judge. He currently lives in Laguna County with his wife and daughter.[2]

Legal career

Willia Bedsworth began his legal career in 1972 working in the Orange County District Attorney's Office. He was elected to the Orange County Superior Court in 1986, where he worked until his appointment to the Court of Appeal in 1997.[2][3]
