William Henry Sawtelle (1868-1934) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.

Judicial career
Ninth Circuit
Sawtelle was nominated by President Herbert Hoover on January 8, 1931 to fill the seat vacated by Frank Sigel Dietrich. He was confirmed by the Senate on January 22nd, and received commission on January 29th. He served until his death on December 17, 1934.[1]
District Arizona
Sawtelle was nominated by President Woodrow Wilson on August 6, 1913 to fill the seat vacated by Richard Elihu Sloan. He was confirmed by the Senate on August 18th, and received commission that same day. He served on this court until February 6, 1931, when he was appointed to the Ninth Circuit.[1] Sawtelle was succeeded in this position by Albert Morris Sames.
